Apps that work with Google Classroom
These are different apps that Google Classroom recommends to work alongside the app.
Google DriveGoogle Classroom is deeply linked with Google Drive. If you open up your Drive after using Classroom, you'll notice a new Classroom folder. All of your student's work that is submitted to you via Classroom will live in these folders in your Drive account, meaning that no work will ever be lost.
In that regard, you can think of Classroom as the 'front end' that organises your classes and assignments, and Drive is the place that the work gets ultimately stored! |
New School YearCongratulations, you've made it through another school year! After you're back from your well deserved Summer break, it's time to start preparing for the new school year.
For every new year, you'll want to set up fresh classes for your students to join. However, you can reuse all the same announcements and assignments that you made the previous year, so you're not starting from scratch! First, go to your Classes page to view all of your classes. Then, click on the three vertical dots on each class and then click Archive. This will mark your class as not being active anymore and move it into the Archived Classes section of Google Classroom. Now, you'll want to make fresh classes for your new students to join, putting the new year into the 'Section' field. |
Whilst we have made a fresh class, you can easily reuse any announcements or assignments that you have made the previous year. To do this, click the '+' button on the bottom right of the stream page, and then click 'Reuse post'. This will then allow you to access your archived class from the previous year and repost any announcements or assignments you've already created!
