Adding Classes

Adding a class manually 

On the main iDoceo screen you can see Edit and Add

• Simply select the Add button and click Class
• You can then enter Class details - The description, & Year Group.
  
• You can Colour code the class by clicking in the Grey circle and choosing your colour. This colour will then appear on your planner when the class is assigned.

To add Pupils:
Click the + sign on the left and side of the screen.
This will bring up a full chart allowing you the ability to add things like name ; parental contact details, DOB, Phone number.

This is quite a laborius task so I recommend entering your class lists by importing classes from SIMS. See how to do this below:

Getting class lists from SIMS

One of the key things you want to do first with iDoceo is import your classes from SIMS. This procedure prevents you from having to do this manually which would be a laborious task. Follow the guide below 

Step 1:

1. Open SIMS on your C2K machine
2. Go to Reports > Student List > Class List
3. Select My Classes from the left hand list, then click OK
4. Select columns for deletion e.g. Date of Birth, by clicking once at the top of the column, then Right-click and select Remove Column - leave only the column Full Name
5. Click Export. In the dialogue box that appears, change the output options from HTML to Excel and click OK. Excel should now open with all of your class lists.
6. Copy and paste each class list (names only) into a new excel document. Remember, the only column name you MUST have is Student. Other columns can be added, like Test 1, Test 2 etc NB - each class list will need its own file. Save each file as a .csv file and email it to your school account to ensure you can access it on your iPad. (Note that you could also choose to save it in your Google Drive account

Step 2: 

1. Locate the email containing the .csv class list previously created from SIMs via excel - tap on the name of the file
2. Tap anywhere on the open page to reveal the 'Open In' icon at the top right of the page
3. Tap the icon and choose 'Open in iDoceo'
4. Tap Create New Class and the list of names will appear
5. Tap on the left facing arrow (top left) to return to the main iDoceo menu
6. To ensure the data has transferred, tap of the name of the class from the list and check the names are there.
7. Repeat this procedure for each of your classes. NB - You need to add your classes BEFORE you do your Schedule - you will need to allocate each class to a time slot - see next section
